It's quite common for movers to scavenge grocery and liquor stores for moving boxes to save money on supplies but doing so can actually end up costing more. Here are a few arguments for purchasing moving boxes or renting plastic moving boxes for your move;
1. Uniform boxes save you time. One of the biggest challenges and time consuming aspects to loading a truck or storage container is making use of the available space. Piecing your boxes and belongings like a puzzle adds time to your load by requiring a more complex loading strategy. 2. Used boxes are dirty. Traces of food and insects have been found in used boxes picked up from grocery and liquor stores. The only way to avoid this is to purchase or rent moving boxes.
